Guest Speaker: Dr Nick Whiterod, Science Program Manager, Coorong Lower Lakes Murray Mouth (CLLMM) Research Centre, Goolwa
Dr Whiterod oversees more than 25 research projects with 100+ scientists working to help the CLLMM region thrive under the pressures of climate change. With recent record-low rainfall and marine algal blooms affecting our local environment, this is sure to be an insightful evening.

What a First AGM!
Our inaugural AGM was smooth sailing with 34 attendees, engaging discussion, and a great presentation by Dr Tim Johnson (TREENET). Many stayed on for a casual meal at the Bistro – a fantastic way to wrap up the evening.

Community Planting Festival – What a Day!
Over 110 volunteers, 1000 guards, and 2500 locally grown seedlings planted in just over 2 hours! Huge thanks to Friends of Inman River, VH Coastcare, Friends of Hindmarsh River Estuary, Rotary Victor Harbor for the BBQ and Hindmarsh Island Landcare for pre-drilling.
Should We Do It Again Next Year?
The Landcare Australia Bupa Grant is open again! We’re in early talks about applying to grow and plant another 2500 seedlings on The Bluff.

Ongoing Sediment Issues in Hindmarsh River
We’ve spoken directly with the EPA regarding sediment runoff from a local development into the river, harming native species and ecosystems.
Please help by reporting each incident. Here’s a template to make it easy:
“I am very concerned about the environmental harm to the Hindmarsh River caused by inadequate sediment control. I observed sediment flow on [insert date/time] at [insert location].”
